Small businesses provide unique opportunities for people in rural and urban areas to build and create their own visions of happiness and prosperity. However, small businesses have been gobbled up and annexed into large lifeless cement warehouses that value exploitation over the needs of our citizens. The majority of political leaders talk-the-talk about supporting small businesses, but overwhelmingly vote for tax breaks or incentives for large multinational corporations. If we ever want to really experience the land of opportunity, we must bring back the mom-and-pop and all other forms of small business whether it be partnerships, sole proprietorships, or employee-owned businesses.

Our democracy is in ruins. I am running as a nonpartisan candidate simply because our current system serves no one - except those who already hold power and influence. For this reason, I propose the following remedies that will give people a reason to believe their actions and votes do matter.

1. Rank Choice Voting
2. Establish trustworthy news sources via nonprofit citizen reporting and other means
3. Every citizen shall be automatically registered to vote and receive weekly updates about bills and laws that are being debated in Congress
4. Mail-in and drop-off voting shall be required in every state
5. Civics education will be required for all students from kindergarten on - using mock elections that mirror those of national, state, and local elections according to their level of understanding.

Jeffrey Epstein represents a traumatic failure of every system of government - and the worst part is - it's still happening. Power must be held to account, and those who consider themselves public servants should not be more concerned with protecting their images above American lives.

We need to all ask ourselves and our leaders: "how did we allow such depravity to occur?"
A serious reckoning is due; without it, we are all at risk.

Data centers are a threat to everything we hold dear, and we need a moratorium on their development. We must protect our small farms and make it easier to produce food. I support cottage food laws and any laws that make it easier for smaller home-based food production businesses and smaller farms to gain traction in our food supply.

Our elections must be fully publicly funded; there is no way around this. In order to encourage a more robust democracy, we must encourage third parties, which will only happen if elections are publicly funded. We have spent far too much time focusing on court cases such as Citizens United v. FEC, which allows corporations to spend money

We have spent far too much time focusing on court cases such as Citizens United v. FEC, which allows corporations to spend money on elections. As a former lobbyist for the Mountain States Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, I support lobbying and even businesses who lobby for their interests, however changes must occur, especially if we want to expand the foothold of democracy.

We must protect the Guinea Pigs (and the Chinchillas)!

I'm running for US Senate in Colorado because I need a job. I want this job and think I have a good mix of pragmatism, optimism, pessimism, and compassion to serve Colorado well.

I'm choosing one of the least optimal times in my life to run for office, but it's something I've always wanted to do. My personal life is in shambles in almost every way possible. I'm in the middle of a divorce, my youngest child has a chronic illness - and I'm in financial ruin, but I'm less than a week away from turning fifty - and here's the thing: if not now, when? I've always had reasons not to do it, especially now, which is why I've decided that it must be time.
